Fandom Inspiration

Another post before I take a small break cause yes, I need a break just to figure out/research what I want to do my next project about BUT I would like to talk about three of my inspirations which aren't really industry standard or anything. I love SqueedgeMonster, I love Slugbox and I love Vivziepop for their long-time dedication to the craft of art and oh man, I could go on and on about how I could have began to emulate them years ago cause I ain't too far off their ages BUT I am still younger than them, like age really has anything to do with it, this is my own journey. Saying this, I don't want to create the same work as them but definitely achieve that quality and I should start by drawing live instead of hiding away like I have done FOR years. I've always been drawing but I really need to focus in on sharing that talent with everyone and not just myself.

I love Squeedge cause of their blend of illustration and graphic design, her album covers is really what got me to try out the digital art medium since before, fine art all the time. I'm talking like 10 YEARS ago now but still I like to draw homages to them and its still pretty apparent in my own style in my own opinion.

I love Slugbox cause of their consistency even if recently they expressed regret in their choice of career, no one really gets into art for that high living at least I hope they don't. They definitely have a more illustrative even anime-esque quality, I love the shading and variety in characters. The free-ness of ideas, they really just do what they want.

I love Vivziepop cause of their never ending energy, I still go back to their old tumblr, they also have a new one. The amount of work too is amazing. I'm someone whos constantly bothered by shape consistency but her work is just pure energy, shapes morph and change and thats really the essence of animation shining through and really I should be taking notes and embracing that chaotic energy in my own work. It has expression, direction and movement.

So there you go, Animation, Illustration, Graphic Design, 3 Areas which inspire me.

Some old game opening intros

Maybe its nostalgia, but I really dig these old game animations as they set the tone and story for what you are about to experience in gameplay with a condensed format. I'm mainly thinking of the old Sims games like Sims 2 especially, I appreciate how the intro is split up into showing different areas briefly and stringing them together. Theme Hospital doesn't reveal much to do with the story of the game but is rather a short comical skit showing how you can be the hero of the hospital but also get away with dark intentions as shown at the end.

First Post!

After Tumblr suffered a bugged update which resulted in my art blogs having reduced visibility, I've decided to come back to Blogspot (or Blogger).

This is a test post for testing purposes, nothing to see here apart from this test post right here. If you are wondering why I'm still typing for this test post, it is because I need a decent amount of text in order to see how it looks on my blog after I have posted this, that's all!
